Do you have a dream you’re putting off? Do you have a vision for a project, company, book, something you’ve been waiting to get started on?
I recently directed my first live theatrical show, a musical revue I created called “There’s No Business Like Show Business.” It was very successful and it sparked something in me. You see I’ve always wanted to start a theater company that produced musical theater and offered education in performing arts to our community. But I kept thinking I needed to have:
more money
more experience
more contacts
more time
The truth was I just needed to take action and start. And I did and now I’m proud to report that I’m the Artistic Director and Founder of Portland Musical Theater Company (if you’re in the Portland Area, join our fan club list to get special offers and savings)
We’re searching for a venue to host our first production this fall and right I’m creating the show.
It’s as if God started bringing me the right people and resources as soon as I took the first step forward.
I didn’t know what I was doing.
I’ve never started a non-profit before.
But why should that stop me? I’m not really qualified “on paper” to do most of the things I’ve done before.
And it’s bringing me so much joy and energy. I’m not quitting my “Delegated to Done” work helping business owners to create and lead a team they can trust. I’m not stopping working with businesses to develop better leaders and more engaged employees.
But I am taking action to make my dreams a reality. And I want the same for you.
I wouldn’t be able to devote the time to creating new shows, finding venues, casting and rehearsing if I didn’t have a killer team backing me up in my business.
